I like the idea. You already have the 5 elemental symbolism started with the "Shard-Smiths", but you may want to mirror this with the elemental races. If you want to stick to classic Japanese symbology, you need a "void" race. How widespread or common this race appears would be up to you. You may also want to include "void"-shards (fallen from the sky?).

Loosely connected through a few rare and obscure portals is the homeworld of the Anarkis. The world is dark and barren but it suits the Anarkis just fine. The Anarkis have the ability to change shape and most often use this ability to impersonate the other races. Most follow a religious belief called "The Quiet". It's their utopia. They believe that it is their divine mandate to not only close the portals but in fact "quiet" all of Porticullis. Their natural form is something like a tall, thin humanoid with extremely pale (nearly translucent) skin and black eyes. They make excellent liars, cheats, plotters and spies.

Recruiting for an Old-Fashioned Dungeon Crawl at my new website, The Nine Worlds:
www.the9worlds.freeforums.org
Like the old days, raid a dungeon, loot, pillage, etc. Looking for good characters to plunder a vast underworld.
It seems that my very successful game at RPOL.net simply died when I tried to move it to my OWN forum-based website. While I do not have the option of dice-rolling on site, we can link with the EvilDM Dice Server (which is excellent) copy, paste, and send me the results.
YES, did I say I WILL GM!
Anyone interested please post here, contact me, or stop by the site.
Thanks!

I couldn't draw a map if my life depended on it, so I'm out. However, if anyone feels qualified to do so, I would definitely appreciate it.

Well, I finally got my act together and enough people in a room to play a Super-Happy mission. It ran smoothly, and a good time was had by all--although the shanghaiing aspect of the setup led one character to spend time trying to escape before the actual mission). I tweaked the mission board a little bit, referring to delivery recipients by first initial and last name only--though my players figured out pretty quickly which "S. Racer" might have a use for a trunk alarm. Fun stuff!

In the second paragraph the word "opporunity" appears -- unless that's intentional. Who knows? It has a nice, rolling sound to it. Rather woody, actually...

You seem to have drifted off after mentioning Lovecraft in your first paragraph there. May I suggest Clark Ashton Smith and Robert E. Howard (stories like "Pigeons from Hell, rather than the Conan stuff) as possibilities? And Robert Bloch, and Frank Belknap Long. All of them were part of Lovecraft's circle of correspondents--I'm sure there were popular writers I left out just 'cause they weren't in the Lovecraft circle. A minor point, perhaps, but there it is. (I'm all about the minor points.)

I'm not certain if this is a setting or optional rules, though. It might end up being moved if it is a setting.

Reply to this comment with out of character questions and conversations, the first of which is what setting to use.
Turin seems to favor Dao Sheng and Arcadomai. Jetryl would like to try something humorous, so he can play as Hellrond. And I haven't heard from Thrawn. Artemis_Reborn and Neogenics may join us at a later date.
Any other recommendations about settings to use? Preferences?

In that case, humorous it is. How does Anachromerica, or a slightly goofy version of Arcadomai sound?

Not sure how the Healer and Grievous Wounds cliche works, do you roll for one then if the healer makes it, he can cure. Is the Grievous Wounds Cliche heals 3 dice?
Let me know

In this example, healing is treated as a full Risus Combat, Healer's cliche vs. the wound cliche. If the healer wins a round, the wound loses one die (the 3 becomes a 2). This continues until the wound (or the healer) are defeated.

There aren't any dice here. You kind of have to trust players to be honest with what they are doing.

This is the best kind of insane. I totally want to inflict this on my group in the very near future. It makes my Eternity Corps setting look staid, and I have to say I'm kind of jealous.

Awesome! It's the great tastes that taste great together!
"You got SHGGFTAWSGDSSFDF in my Eternity Corps!" "You got Eternity Corps in my SHGGFTAWSGDSSFDF!"
But on a serious note, yeah, our settings totally work well with each other's. I may have to revive my campaign I was trying earlier.

Glad to see you got Eternity! posted here. I look forward to many more adventures. There is a section on this wiki for pre-made characters...perhaps we should place our various PSH characters there for reference?

Have you created any statistics for Egon and Eli? If so, you might want to either post them under "Characters" on this page, or post them on the Fantasy character page.
